FINDHELP GEORGIA

Search for free or reduced cost services like

medical care, food, child care, financial assistance, job training, and more.

To report child abuse and/or neglect:

If you have an immediate emergency, call 911 or your local police department; otherwise,

call DFCS Child Protective Services at 1.855.GACHILD (422.4453).

Child abuse and/or neglect reports are taken 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Mental Health Resources

For access to services and immediate crisis help, call the Georgia Crisis & Access Line (GCAL) at 1-800-715-4225, available 24/7.

 

Georgia’s youth can now access GCAL’s services via text and chat through a new app called My GCAL.

Financial Resources

The Georgia Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) investigates reports of child abuse; finds foster and adoptive homes for abused and neglected children; issues SNAP, Medicaid and TANF; helps out-of-work parents get back on their feet; and provides numerous support services and innovative programs to help families in need.

United Way 2-1-1, we are an information and referral service. We gather information on community resources and refer you to the resource best suited to meet your needs.

The Unemployment Insurance (UI) program provides temporary income for workers who are unemployed through no fault of their own.

Employ Georgia is a secure, web-based system used to connect job seekers with job openings.

Food Assistance Resources

The Georgia Food Stamp Program (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), is a federally-funded program that provides monthly benefits to low-income households to help pay for the cost of food. A household may be one (1) person living alone, a family, or several unrelated individuals cohabitating who routinely purchase and prepare meals together.

The Feeding America network is a nationwide network of food banks, food pantries, and meal programs that work together to provide food to people facing hunger in the United States.

FoodFinder is a food pantry locator and 501(c)(3) nonprofit that shows you when and where to get free food assistance in your area.

The map on our home page is a map of food pantries and school meal locations - every pin that appears is a food assistance program nearby. Tap on one to see when they give away food!

Technology Internet Resources 

The Affordable Connectivity Program provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households.  Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers

Chromebooks and Mobile Hotspots.

​

Library cardholders can borrow Chromebooks and mobile hotspots from many of Georgia’s public libraries.

The Georgia Department of

Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities provides support services to people with behavioral health challenges and individuals who live with developmental disabilities.

Parent to Parent of Georgia supports Georgia families and individuals impacted by disabilities or special health care needs.
